    Terms of Service

    Last Updated: October 30, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of this website and any related services operated by News Apparatus ("we," "us," or "our"). By using the Services you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, stop using the Services.

    1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 and able to enter binding contracts. If you use the Services for an organization, you confirm you are authorized to bind it.

    2. Accounts and Security

    • Provide accurate registration information and keep it current.
    • Keep your credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account.
    • Tell us immediately about any unauthorized access.
    • We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms.

    3. Acceptable Use

    You agree not to:

    • Break any applicable law or regulation.
    • Impersonate anyone or misrepresent your affiliation.
    • Attempt to access systems, data, or accounts you are not authorized to reach.
    • Interfere with, overload, or probe the Services, or bypass rate limits or access controls.
    • Transmit malware or harmful code.
    • Reproduce, redistribute, resell, or create derivative works from our content without permission.
    • Scrape or ingest our content to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any AI, machine-learning, or large-language-model system. This is a material breach of these Terms.

    4. Paid Plans, Purchases, and Refunds

    • Prices, billing periods, and included features are shown at checkout and may change prospectively with notice.
    • Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until cancelled. Cancel any time before renewal in your account or billing portal; access continues to the end of the paid period.
    • Free trials, where offered, convert to paid at the end of the trial unless cancelled first.
    • One-time purchases such as courses, events, or memberships grant access as described on the item's page.
    • Refunds: request a refund through our contact form within 14 days of purchase; we refund where the content, course, or event access is largely unused. Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals and access continues to the end of the paid period — we do not refund partial periods. Statutory rights of withdrawal, where they apply, are unaffected.
    • Taxes are your responsibility unless we state otherwise. Failed payments may result in suspension.
    • Payments are handled by our payment processor; your use of it is subject to its own terms.

    5. Our Intellectual Property

The Services and their content — text, graphics, logos, images, audio, video, software, and compilations — are owned by News Apparatus or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property law. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to view and use the Services for your own professional or personal reference. All other rights are reserved.

    6. Content You Submit

You keep ownership of what you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt for format, and display it in connection with operating and promoting the Services. You confirm you have the rights needed to grant that license, and that your submission does not infringe anyone's rights or violate any law. We may decline, edit, or remove submissions.

    7. Copyright Complaints

We respond to notices of claimed infringement. Send a notice identifying the work, the material you say infringes it, your contact details, a good-faith statement, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act, through our Legal Inquiries page. Repeat infringers lose access.

    8. APIs and Automated Access

If we grant API or programmatic access, you must use your own credentials, keep them secret, stay within published rate limits and quotas, and not resell or proxy access without written permission. We may throttle, suspend, or revoke credentials for abuse, security risk, or non-payment, and we may change or deprecate endpoints with reasonable notice.

    9. Third-Party Content and Links

The Services include links to and material from third parties. We do not control or endorse it and are not responsible for it.

    10. No Professional Advice

Content is provided for general information and education only and is not professional advice for your situation. See our Disclaimer.

    11. AI-Assisted Content

Some material is drafted with AI assistance; editors can require that it be approved by a person before publication. AI-assisted output can still contain errors or omissions; verify anything you intend to rely on against primary sources.

    12. Availability and Changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services. We aim for continuous availability but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.

    13. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION.

    14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) US$100 OR (B) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

    15. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless News Apparatus and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from your use of the Services, your submissions, or your breach of these Terms.

    16. Termination and Your Data

Either of us may end this relationship at any time. You may close your account in settings. On termination your right to use the Services stops; you may request an export of your data within 30 days, after which we delete or anonymize it under our retention schedule, except where law requires us to keep it.

    17. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing anything, contact us through our Legal Inquiries page so we can try to resolve the matter informally within 30 days. Disputes not resolved that way will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California, and both parties consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief to protect intellectual property.

    18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. The "Last Updated" date shows the current version, and continued use after a material change means you accept it.
